The Power of Masculine Energy
Last week, I wrote about the Power of Feminine. This week is "All About Masculine Energy". I'll begin with the same disclaimer I used last week. Masculine and feminine are spiritual concepts that involve energy; they are not synonymous with man and woman. All men have feminine energy, and all women have masculine energy. Your energetic field is a choice. Moving forward, I will describe masculine as male and feminine as female, even though I just said I know better. You can choose to be dominant (masculine), or you can choose to be passive (feminine). This concept is best explained by the famous Taoist symbol Yin-Yang.
Yin and Yang are often used to describe these “false dichotomies,” such as light and dark, hard and soft, or good and evil. The reason that these dichotomies are called "false" is that nothing is totally anything. Even when doing something good, a little evil could be present; even when doing something wrong, it can still result in something good. Even though wood seems hard, there are parts of it that are soft. Like a pillow is understood to be soft, a little hardness is ever-present. For this reason, the Yin Yang symbol has a dot of the "opposite" element inside; even on the dark side (feminine), there is a white dot (masculine).
Both Yin and Yang are parts of the same whole—without Yin, Yang would have no contrast, and without Yang, Yin would have no contrast. Neither could exist without the other. We would not know darkness unless we understood light, and vice versa. This begins to explain the concepts of femininity and masculinity on a spiritual, energetic level.
Feminine energy, the receptive, nurturing, and passive force, is understood as Yin. Masculine energy, on the other hand, which is the assertive, direct, and action-oriented force, is Yang. These two energies depend upon one another to exist—one immensely enjoys the other. This is why masculine men typically gravitate towards women who appear to be receptive, nurturing, and passive. In the presence of this type of energy, he can feel masculine. It is also why some women crave assertive, direct, and decisive men. Women feel more feminine in the presence of a masculine man because he takes charge and is not feminine. Thus, his masculinity defines her feminine, and her femininity defines his masculine.
Guys, let's get clear on one thing: women LOVE masculine men because they make women feel feminine. She loves your hard arms because they remind her that she is soft. She can feel at ease when you lead by creating a plan for the date. She craves your protection because it makes her feel precious. Remember from last week, feminine is powerful because of what it is (being). Masculine is made powerful by what it does (doing). If you are a masculine man, you are a doer. You must first do for yourself. What have you created? What do you offer yourself? How are you expanding in the universe? What do you do? You must first be able to answer these questions for yourself before you pursue your feminine. You have nothing to offer her if you cannot answer these questions. You do not even know what you do!
The next question to answer is, what do you do for her? If you want to be with her, you must offer her something. This has been true since the beginning of time. Even in ancient kingdoms, no man had a wife until he did something to prove himself worthy. He had to complete a rights of passage, build a hut, and catch some animal to feed himself (and her). A man remains in his masculine when he is doing. That means he asks her out (initiating), plans the date (leadership), gives a compliment (assertive/confidence), holds the door (support), cuts some wood (capable), builds a house (protection/provision), works (active), and fertilizes an egg (creating/giving/expanding). Boom! There you have it, a masculine man.
Ladies, if you want to attract this type of man into your life, you must not be this type of man. Energy is about taking up space. If you take up the masculine energy, you will repeatedly attract feminine men or push them into the feminine energy. Like I said last week, many working women spend much time in their masculine (doing) energy and struggle to switch it off at home...even though they want to experience something different. The only way you can have that experience is to change your energy. If you want him to plan a special night for you, don't plan it. Request what you want and wait. Let him do it. Be still. Do you want a wife? Or do you want to be a wife? You can either drive or ride. There cannot be two drivers. This is true of all relationships, even friendships. It is most evident in same-sex couples. Two women can be together; one will assume the masculine energy, while the other assumes the feminine energy. The energies will always find balance.
That is what the whole yin-yang and masculine and feminine thing is about...BALANCE. When the energies, or elements, are balanced, they can be pretty potent! My sweetheart is a water sign. I am a fire sign (Aries fire, and I love it!). If we are out of balance, we could destroy each other. Too much water will douse out fire. Too much fire will evaporate water. In perfect balance, fire and water create steam...which is a powerful force. We both love it when it gets steamy!
If you want to change your energy to attract something new or be something new, I'd love to show you the way. Who do you need to be, to invite in what you seek to experience? You are a force of attraction! Here's to finding the balance.
